This marks a major step in how we evolve urban mobility in Dubai, bringing leading autonomous driving technologies and fully driverless AI-powered transport into everyday life, not as a concept, but as a real, scalable service. It aligns with the Dubai Self Driving Transport Strategy of converting 25% of all rides to autonomous transport by 2030

This is a commercial rollout, with services gradually scaling across selected areas in Dubai as part of a phased expansion plan.

The service will be initially introduced in key, high-demand areas across Dubai (Jumeirah area), with plans to expand coverage in line with operational readiness and customer demand.

The service is designed to operate in a fully driverless mode, meaning there is no human safety driver behind the wheel. Operations will be conducted in line with all local regulatory requirements.

While the rollout will commence with dozens of vehicles initially, the service will expand gradually to increase the fleet capacity to more than 1,000 driverless vehicles by 2030.

Residents and visitors can book the driverless ride via the ‘Apollo Go App’ available on both Play Store and App Store, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience. The service will be extended to Bolt and other e-hail providers as the roll out scales up.

Apollo Go is Baidu's autonomous ride-hailing platform. As of February 2026, Apollo Go has provided more than 20 million rides to the public, expanded its global footprint to 26 cities, and accumulated more than 300 million autonomous kilometers, including over 190 million fully driverless kilometers.

During the initial phase, the rides will be complimentary. We expect the autonomous taxis to apply the same fares as regular Dubai Taxi Company taxi service with no additional charges post the promotion period.

Safety sits at the core of this service. As of February, Apollo Go fleets have accumulated more than 300 million autonomous kilometers globally, including over 190 million fully driverless kilometers. Underscoring the safety of these operations, Apollo Go reports an airbag-deployment incident for every 12 million kilometers (approximately 7.46 million miles) driven.

Customers can access support through multiple, clearly defined channels designed to ensure safety and ease of use. Safety guidance is provided both within the vehicle and through the Apollo Go app, which allows passengers to quickly connect to customer service via a pre-filled dial option. Inside the vehicle, customer service contact numbers are prominently displayed, enabling passengers to call directly if needed. In addition, an in-vehicle emergency button provides immediate access to police assistance (999), ensuring a rapid response in critical situations.
